Breast Cancer Research – Dr. Kosir

drkosirlab_mainpage2
Through the opportunities afforded to me through the Department of Surgery, WSU, VAMC and Karmanos Cancer Institute, I have established basic science and clinical research projects that have permitted the publication of original articles and externally peer-reviewed funding.

My commitment to cancer research is centered on a) function of extracellular proteoglycans and glycanases in the metastasis and invasion of breast cancer including G-protein linked CXC chemokines and their receptors, b) lymphedema detection and protection in breast cancer survivors, c) treatment of DCIS of the breast in situ to reduce overtreatment and, further characterize increased lymphangiogenesis in more aggressive DCIS.
